Welcome to Day 1 of the Halloween Trick or Treat Blog Hop. If you just came from Janice's Blog: www.cricutconfessions.com then you are on the right track. If you get lost along the way, please visit our fabulous host Kathryn at www.creationswithkathryn.com for the complete lineup.
I couldn't wait to get started on my project for this hop. I have been watching some amazingly talented crafters make some fabulous holiday wreaths online, so I decided to make a halloween wreath for our front door. I wanted to do something a little different with this one. I used the materials you see here. All of these items were on sale at Micheals for 40% to 50% off. The price made this wreath even more tempting to work on! The wreath form shown is 12" in diameter. I used about 14 spools of 1" ribbon (3yds ea). The wider the ribbon, the less you have to use.
I cut the ribbon into 6" long strips and began tying them randomly around the wire wreath form.
Next, I painted the letters and glued them to the skeleton so that it looked like he was holding them.
Lastly, I made this decorative bow from this sparkly black ribbon to finish off the look of the wreath.
And here is what it looks like all finished. I love it!! I am thinking about purchasing some battery powered lights to add to it as well.
It did take some time to tie all the ribbon on, but after I finished it, I really love the look of it!! I am thinking of doing one for Christmas as well.
Now, onto some blog candy....
