Stylish Blogger Award!! and another revamp.

I just love receiving blog awards! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Blogging is one of my favorite things to do. I love sharing my files, papercraft projects, and sometimes a little dirt about my life with all my crafty blogger friends out there. This award came from Sarah @ Crafting with Sarah. Thank you so much Sarah!! Sarah creates some amazing projects on her blog and shares links to some awesome giveaways!! Please pay her a visit and become a follower of hers!

Now on to the rules....
Upon receiving this award I must thank the person who gave it to me and link it back to their blog. Share 8 things about myself. Also, pass the award on to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered and leave them a comment so they can accept this award and pass along the recognition.

Thanks so much to Sarah for this award and please stop by her blog!!

I would love to pass this award on to the following blogs. I have just recently discovered several of them but I can't wait to see more of their work!

Papercraft Star and Flamingo Freebie

For this weeks challenge at Papercraft Star I created a card. The challenge for week 30 was to scraplift from one member of the design team. I chose Jan's DT submission from week 28. To see her submission click here. I just loved the bird she used on her card so I designed my own "love birds". I also made some simple flowers using some basic shapes. These love birds are freebies from an earlier post and can be found by clicking here. I used DCWV "La Creme Stack" papers as well as some rafia and silk black flower pedals for the flower bottoms. I added a little stitching to the mat and some red stickles to the birds and viola...another submission. Voting begins Saturday @ Noon (EST) so please visit Papercraft Star and place a vote for my card!!

Also this week I have a FREEBIE Flamingo. I used it on a layout that I created for a design team call for "One by One the Flamingos are Stealing my Sanity". I absolutely LOVE, LOVE the way this flamingo came out!! His eye is a black brad and I did a little faux stitching on him (just to match the design on my layout). The "feathers" should be layered and angled upward as to add to them. I used a thin cardstock (to get the feathered look a bit easier) and then sprayed with some pink glimmer mists.

You Melt my Heart....and a Freebie

I made another card today. This time I used the latest "Love Bug" I made. I think it's so cute. To get the free love bug digi stamp or svg file go to this post.."Love Bug Part 2". The cardstock I used for this card was actually printed from a free digi from Maria S. She has some amazing freebies!! Please visit her, become a follower and leave a comment just to show a little love from us. You will love her designs!! I couldn't decide what to use as a background for the card so I made a "Melting Heart", so as always, I am giving this away as a Free SVG today. The zip file includes the svg, mtc, and the png files.

And here's what it looked like on the card after I cut it. I'm not sure about the embossing, but you get the idea. I will also be entering this card in Papercraft Star's Chanllenge 29. So please go vote for me when voting opens on Saturday @ Noon (EST)!!!

Love Bug...Part 2

UPDATE: I was asked about the background in this photo of my design. I completely forgot to give credit for using it. And it was a I know the people asking about it will be thrilled. It was from a free collection from Far Far Hill. They are very giving and issue freebies like mad!! Love them!! While you're there check out their Neare Store as well. Some beautiful digis at low cost.

Since I had created a "Love Bug" for my daughter I decided to create one for my son's Valentine's Day card as well. I plan to do his card in more "boy-ish" colors so I had to change the bug up a bit. Hope you like. I have created a digi-stamp along with svg and mtc files for this one. I have not cut this one yet so please let me know how it goes! When cutting, I would suggest removing then drawing the antena lines as well as the face and lines on the body with a fine point marker rather than try to cut them. I don't think they will cut well but wanted to leave them in the file as a guide.

Love Bug Valentine's Day Card

I finished my daughter's Valentine's Day card. I wanted to share it with all my fab followers. I am going to try to share more of my work with you using the files I have created so stick around there's more to come! I used the "Love Bug" digi stamp I designed on this card. I will be sharing the card I'm working on for my hubby using the "Camo Cupid" file. I'm new to this whole card making thing so I am learning as I go here. I am also entering this card in the Friday Sketchers challenge #136.
Now on to my card. I used my cricut and Make-the-Cut software to cut the basic shapes for this card. I used my sizzix to texture and glimmer mists to add some shimmer effects. Hope ya like!!

Love Bug

Changed it up a bit today. I decided to make a digi stamp. I needed something for a Valentine's Day card for my daughter and this is the image I came up with. The zip folder includes the watermark free Black & White version as well as the Color version. I may just do a print and cut since I already have him ready to go.

Another Day...Another Layout

This layout looks kinda simple but it took me awhile to do it. I used Glimmer Mists on the background cardstock and the letters. I stitched the photo mats and ribbon. I used Make-the-Cut to cut my words. I love the way the Glimmer mists make everything shimmer. I know it's hard to see in the photos but it looks awesome. I am in love with these mists. I will definately put them on my scrappy wish list!!

Thanks for stopping by. ENJOY!!

Marine Corps Ball Layout

I created this layout for Papercraft Star's challenge 27. The challenge is as follows:

Make a card, layout, altered item, gift or home decor project using one of your New Year's Resolutions as your inspiration. Be sure to include the New Year's Resolution as part of your project description on your blog!

I actually have two New Year's resolutions. One is to take more photos of my children together. I have tons of photos of them individually but very few together. Not sure why that happened but I plan to fix that. I have already taken photos and plan to start new layouts soon. My other resolution is to create more layouts of me and my hubby together.

For this layout I used K & Company's Marine Paper Stack. I cut some simple basic stars using Make-the-Cut. I embossed them using my sizzix then added some stickles to a few edges. I used a flourish from Images by Heather M. You should definately pay her a visit. I'm sure you will be as pleased as I was. Thanks Heather!! It is a simple layout but I loved the way it came out.

Thanks for visiting today and as always....ENJOY!!

Camo Cupid

I created this little guy for a card I plan to make for my hubby. Our anniversary is on Valentine's Day....I know..cheesy right?! It was all his idea so I will not complain. At least I know he will (hopefully) never forget our anniversary. The zip folder includes the svg, mtc, watermark free png and the jpg. You definately don't have to use all the cuts. For example, the chevron, hat, and tags can be left out when cutting. I can't wait to get started on this project. I am not much of a card maker so this should be interesting. I will definately post when I get it complete.
